Skippering Kippa is out now!
Skippering Kippa, A Virgin Voyage Around Britain, is now at the printers and will be ready for sale on September 15th 2008. To order your copy please email rupertemerson @ hotmail.com. Also visit the web page "The Book".
Skippering Kippa includes 21 colour photographs and is based on the log Rupert Hugh Emerson kept of his visit to 120 harbours and anchorages around the coast. There were many mishaps along the way including being towed in by a lifeboat and nearly being wrecked, twice, but there were highlights too, especially making camp in the Scottish Hebrides. While the book will appeal to seafarers it will also appeal to landlubbers because there is little "sailing jargon" although the sense of life aboard is very strong.

Talks
Rupert is doing talks about his adventures around the coast of Britain in aid of the RNLI (Lifeboats) and RYA Sailability. If you would like to book him for a talk, please get in touch.
Kippa for sale

Own Boat Tuition
Being commercially endorsed, Rupert Emerson is now able to offer "own boat tuition". This would be ideal for someone with their own yacht who is looking for one to one help from somebody patient. Courses are all very well but they do not always deliver the result individuals are seeking. Find out more on the "Own Boat Tuition" page so you can make the most of your yacht this season.
RYA Cruising Instructor
Rupert is also available to work for sailing schools on a freelance basis, being an RYA Cruising Instructor. You will find him to be a gentle type - both with people and boats. His business experience of training is considerable and he has a reputation for building happy, motivated, self-managing teams. He is also very patient with sailors struggling with particular skills. RYA Day Skipper Theory
Rupert is assessing demand for RYA Day Skipper Theory courses in the Guildford and Dorking areas. If you would be interested in joining such a course in September or October 2008 please contact Rupert. Adult Education in Guildford has sadly given up its Day Skipper courses and so this is an opportunity to join a local course. See the RYA Day Skipper page.
