RYA Cruising Instructor

Rupert Emerson is an RYA Yachtmaster with commercial and Cruising Instructor endorsements.

His experience of teaching practical courses has been with Lagoon Watersports from their base in Brighton.

As principal of ABC Sailing, an RYA recognised sailing school for the teaching theory of Day Skipper and Yachtmaster®, Rupert is able to introduce students to the courses run at sea schools. 

Rupert is happy to consider the option of running an RYA course anywhere in the world.  He has sailed in the UK, France, Channel Islands, Sweden, Brazil, Japan and New Zealand.

Rupert's approach is to ensure safety and then provide an inclusive learning environment where all students have fun.  A relaxed, quietly confident style allows nervous students to settle quickly while his understanding of people enables him to motivate talented students to develop their skills to the full.
